PhatDogMan - We really don't have enough details of how Livermore traded to flesh out a full trading strategy. Even if we could it would be pointless; the market has changed drastically over the last 80 years. Just a couple examples of the differences are the rise in computerized trades, the disappearance of blatant stock manipulation by 'pools' and the decline of the importance of individual investors and the rise of institutions.

Michael,
I was wondering what you think of Jesse Livermore's strategy. From what I gather, he entered a position by speculating in the commodities markets. He got in on a trend and added to his position if the trend continued. He avoided sideways markets and bet big on trending ones.
Is this swing trading or is it more?
Would you consider it a good system?

All these sites tell people how to make money. Yet all the stats say the vast majority of people who day trade lose big time. Something isn't connecting here. Don't intend to be rude. But I can't help but wonder, if its so easy, how come almost everyone who tries loses their butts?
