thanks for the suggestions. I would most likely be using my fingers mostly, and I like cheap, so I was leaning towards resistive.

I’ve worked with Planars as well and the warranty is great! The only thing I would add is info on which technology is right for you. Do you plan to use a stylus of some sort or just a finger? If you want to use a finger, pen, or stylus resistive would work just fine. It’s also the least expensive of the three types of monitors.

Really what you should look at is the warranty that is supplied between these two companies. I would have to side with Planar due to the fact that you get a 3yr 2 day advanced exchange warranty. I have been ordering both Elo and Planar for different customers and Planar by far has had the best support and when it comes down to the product there are little differences. One thing I will point out is if you are looking at Planar just make sure that your OS is supported by the model. Most will work with almost all OS, however their Economical line will only work with Vista, XP, and 2000. All of their new models will run on vertually all OS.
